  2.      Here is a list of the file extensions used so far to help you 
  3. know what each one is and if they will work on your computer.This 
  4. listing  will  be updated each month with more as i  come  across 
  5. them.If you have any to add then let me know at my usual address.
  6.      A  lot  of the picture files can be converted  between  each 
  7. computer  and i will try to add as many convertors as and when  i 
  8. get  them.Many  other items can also be exchanged.I will  try  to 
  9. make  the  names  of the different files on this  disk  and  this 
  10. listing refer to what they are.

  12. Example-            Explanation-
  13.  
  14. Border.PI1     PI1  means An Atari uncompressed picture file 
  15.                ( commonly used for borders or loading screens )
  16.  
  17. Picture.PC1    PC1 means a Compressed Atari picture file.    
  18.  
  19. Sample.AVR     AVR  means An Atari sound sample (  commonly  used 
  20.                for samples used in 3D kit 2.
  21.   
  22. Picture.IFF    IFF means an Amiga picture file/border.
  23.  
  24. Brush.IFF      Iff means also a Brush/Border file extension.
  25.                ( Amiga/Atari )
  26.  
  27. sample.IFF     IFF means also an Amiga sound sample.
  28.  
  29. ReadMe.TXT     TXT  means  a normal text file  usually  saved  in 
  30.                ASCII  format  that  can be  read  by  nearly  all 
  31.                computers e.g.Atari/PC/Amiga etc.
  32.  
  33. Condit.TXT     TXT  means  the same as above but can be  used  to 
  34.                save 3D kit 2 conditions for use in your game.

  36. ReadMe.DOC     DOC  means  a  text file  usually  saved  in  word 
  37.                processor mode.Used as an Atari file Extension.
  38.  
  39. kit1file.      No extension and usually a Kit 1 data file.It  can 
  40.                usually be swapped by Atari and PC computers.
  41.  
  42. Myworld.3WD    3WD means a kit 2 Data file.
  43.  
  44. AREA.3AD       3AD means a kit 2 Area file.
  45.  
  46. Object.3OD     3OD means a Kit 2 object file.
  47.  
  48. sound.3NB      3NB  means a Beeper sound file ( PC only )
  49.  
  50. program.BAS    BAS is usually a bit of code for a programme 
  51.                usually written in some form of BASIC.
  52.  
  53. sound.3NA      3NA means Ad Lid sound file ( PC only )
  54.  
  55. sound.3NR      3NR means Roland sound file ( PC only )
  56.  
  57. sounds.3SM     3SM means Amiga/Atari ST sample banks
  58.  
  59. Picture.NEO    NEO means an Atari Neochrome picture file.
